Welcome to everyone here from ICLW! I’m so glad you decided to stop by. Hopefully once you get to know me you’ll still want to stick around! :)
So as of today I am 29 weeks and 3 days pregnant with our Jellybean – a baby boy. The journey to get here though was anything but slam, bam, thank ya ma’am!
I met my future husband in December of 2006. He was my mechanic and I had to break my car..twice.. to get him to ask for my number. All it took though was one date and we have been joined at the hip ever since. No really, his uncle predicted we would be married within a month of our dating. A year and a half later in May of 2008 we were. In July, I decided to go off birth control. My husband already had a daughter and a son from previous relationships but this was to be my first. So I figured it would take me a few months to figure out my cycles and then we would have a BFP. Nice idea in theory.
What I ended up with was two perfect 34 day cycles and then a 30 day cycle, a 43 day cycle. A 52 day cycle which revealed an ovarian cyst. A bunch of visits to the OB/GYN to monitor it. Switching OB’s when my ultrasounds were rescheduled..twice. Then the start of the RE process. After countless tests and a few thousand dollars we came away knowing dh had super sperm and I had long cycles with late ovulation. That’s it. I tried Femara, which was a bust. I had a 43 day cycle and didn’t ovulate until CD 30. MY RE started pushing IUI’s immediately – even though we had only done one medicated cycle. I should have known then that this office was about the big money but I guess my want for baby blinded me. I tried a cycle of Clomid with a trigger shot. For some reason they had me only do 25mg and triggered me way too early. Another BFN. I decided to take a break financially from all the RE craziness.
I did two cycles of soy. Nothing. I went back to my OB who decided to try Clomid again, 50 mg to start. He felt my problem was being underweight. I tried to put on weight. First cycle BFN. Second cycle – my dad ended up in the ICU for 5 days. I took my pills all out of order and I’m not even sure I used OPKs. Not really a time you are in the mood. BFN = of course. We went up to 100mg of Clomid. I made an appointment with a different RE. I had no faith in the 100mg Clomid cycle. Then I had heartburn for the first time ever on our trip to Mississippi to pick up my step son. Weird. By first time ever I mean I actually had to ask my hubby what heartburn feels like! My appointment with the new RE was coming up on that Wednesday, May 26 so on Monday the 24th I decided to pee on a stick. To my shock two lines showed up. I peed on another stick the next morning, then a digital, then a blood test and a few more sticks along the way.
HOLY MOLY – WE WERE PREGNANT!
So now, here we are pregnant AFTER infertility. It is possible! I moan and groan along the way. I pop Zantac’s as if they are Tic Tacs. I am addicted to my heating pad and foot spa. I am now experiencing the joys of third trimester Braxton Hicks and round ligament pain. I pee every 12 minutes or so. And I love every minute of it. I honestly and sincerely hope everyone reading gets to experience motherhood themselves one way or another. Don’t give up – whatever you do!
I will continue to hold out hope that everyone struggling with IF realizes their dreams and finds happiness along the way!

Welcome ICLW
If you are visiting from ICLW - Welcome and thank you for coming by. Here is our story in a nutshell. I married my wonderful hubby in May of 08 - became a stepmom in the process. I went off birth control in July of 08 - I figured it would take me a while to regulate and then we could start trying. I had three regular cycles and then they went wacky - 30 days here, 43 there. Right after Easter in 09 I had horrible abdominal pain. More about that here and it goes on from a while there. Long story short - I tried an RE for a bit and realized that the office I had chosen really only wanted my money - not to help us get pregnant. You can browse through last July to November to read more about that.
We took a few cycles off to try naturally then decided to give Clomid another shot through my new amazing Ob Gyn. In February of this year he started me at 50 mg and waited and tried. Nothing. My second cycle at the end of March was a bust from the start. My dad ended up in the hospital in ICU during the beginning of the cycle and I couldn't take the pills correctly. The stress also didn't help since it was very touch and go for awhile there. So needless to say - it was a BFN.
For the next cycle the doctor bumped me up to 100mg. Hubby and I were starting to think we would need something stronger. I researched RE's and made an appointment with a new one for May 26. I just knew the Clomid hadn't worked. On our way to Mississippi to pick up Joey's son I had the worst heartburn ever - out of the ordinary for me but I wrote it off to the tabasco slim jims and fast food. When we got back I decide to take a test on a whim Monday after work. I honestly thought I was seeing things when the second pale pink line came up. I don't even know how many tests I ended up doing in total. It was SHOCKING to see that positive.
So here we are after almost two years of trying - 16 weeks pregnant with a little boy. We are due February 3. I hope those of you still struggling to conceive see that BFP soon and that you share this journey with me!

ICLW - My story
First off - If you are visiting from ICLW - Welcome and thank you for stopping by!
Now on to my story. I can honestly say I never expected to be writing this note just shy of 12 weeks pregnant. I stopped birth control in July of 2008 and waited...and waited. In April of 09 I had a humongous cyst that luckily resolved on its own - but in the process I also made the decision to switch to a different Ob/Gyn after not getting the level of service I felt I should. (Best choice I ever made!) In July of 09 I made my first visit to an RE (worst decision I made as far as RE's go), we went through all of the usual testing and everything came back clear. I tried a cycle of Femara - which didn't work for me at all. I had a 45 day cycle and didn't ovulate until CD 30 followed by a cycle of only 25 mg of Clomid and a trigger shot which was also a bust. After spending all of that money at the RE with poor results and realizing that I kept getting pushed into more invasive procedures without exhausting our less invasive and expensive options, I decided to take a break in medicated cycles from Dec 09-Feb 10.
In February of 2010, I had my Ob/Gyn start me back on Clomid. I did two cycles at 50mg without success. In there my father was also hospitalized for over a week and spent 5 days in the ICU - that may have had something to do with that cycle not working. I started to get really discouraged and searched out a new RE. I made an appt with that RE for May 25 and in the meantime my amazing doctor bumped me up to 100mg. I was convinced our cycle hadn't worked again and was preparing myself for possibly doing an IUI or ultimately IVF.
On our trip to pick up my stepson in Mississippi I had heartburn the entire way there. Completely out of the ordinary for me but I didn't think too much of it. Upon returning home and realizing I had my appointment coming up that Wednesday I decided to take a home pregnancy test that Monday night. To my utter shock - two lines actually showed up! I was in such disbelief I made Joey look at it too and then swore him to secrecy! After a digital and blood test confirmed it - I decided the test may just be right.
I am now navigating the fun and interesting world of pregnancy. Highlights so far have included puking up my entire dinner in the Chili's parking lot, watching my boobs get ginormous, and of course the NT scan. For those of you still struggling with IF - I feel for you and pray each and every one of you sees that BFP. For those of you who are preggo with me - oh what an adventure it is! And to those that are now parenting after infertility - I can't wait to join your ranks!

I swear I didn't fall off the face of the earth!
I had an extremely busy week at work last week so I didn't have any energy to spare for the computer once I got home. On Friday we left for Mississippi to pick up my stepson and Joey's nephew and drove back (12 hours) yesterday. So pardon me while I get caught up.
If you are here from ICLW - Welcome. Thank you for dropping by. Quick backstory. We have been TTC since July 0f 08. I'm on my third cycle of Clomid and currently in the 2ww but I have an appointment with a new RE on Wednesday.
Now I'm off to get up to speed at work for a Monday morning...til tonight y'all!

International Comment Leaving Week
Just a quick shout out to everyone stopping by for ICLW. This is my first time participating so I'm sure glad to see you here. Quick background - we married in May of 08. I went off birth control in July of 08 and still nothing. Started with an RE in July of 09 and after giving them all my money for a cycle of Femara and a cycle of Clomid with a trigger shot, I decided to go back to my Ob/Gyn for a bit. I have done two cycles of 50mg Clomid so far and am currently waiting to see if AF shows in the next few days. If so I will be moving on to 100mg of Clomid and an IUI in June. This hasn't been a fun adventure but we are determined to get through this. Feel free to poke around and read.
