Life is overwhelming sometimes (PS I'm getting old)

This weekend wasn't quite what I was expecting it to be. Its 8pm on a Sunday night and I am drained. Like someone chewed me up and spit me out. I'm also now a year older.

See this was my birthday weekend. Today is in fact my 28th birthday (PS..My 2 key was knocked off by the dog and it sticks now so that almost said 228)

I was hoping for a relaxing uneventful weekend after all the drama of last week. My sister called around 10am on Saturday to let me know my dad had swelling at his incision site and was having difficulty swallowing. She lives an hour and a half away, I'm 20 minutes away. I dropped everything I was doing and headed to meet my parents at the ER. Dad ended up getting admitted. His CT was negative for bleeding but his BP was high which is concerning after an endarectomy. I was of course a basket case all day and finally got sent home around 6:30pm. They finally gave Dad meds to bring his BP down and he slept peacefully though the night. He was released this morning. Then he spent 2 hours buzzing around the house assigning Joey and myself various projects since he's not allowed to do anything. We finally escaped so that he would be forced to relax and rest.

Joey has definitely heard all my complaints about aches and pains these past few months since this is what he got me for my birthday -

I'm not ashamed to say I have used all three of these already. Now I'm going to take my sorry, old ass to bed and catch some zzz's.

Happy Birthday! Don't feel bad- it's 5:30 here and I am trying to talk my husband into going to bed. Hopefully your aches will melt away with your new goodies :)

Glad you used all of your gifts! Sounds like you need some pampering. Being preggo will suck the life outta you at times. Babies are so selfish and just take and take! =) I hope your dad continues to recover! BUT!!! 28 is not old! I am 38 and I thought I felt old at 28! You will feel younger after you have the baby and your body doesn't have to be in overdrive 24/7!

Happy Birthday! The best birthday present would be a little certificate saying you could use the foot bath all you want but someone else would fill it, empty it and clean it out for you.

I hope your dad's bp stays down and he gets well soon.

Have a good week and sleep all you want! Pregnancy is a time to use it as an excuse to get any little thing you want!
